ExcellenceAATG’s German Centers of Excellence program identifies and honors excellence at all levels of instruction K-16. The designation is presented to a well-established and growing German program with strong support from the administration, colleagues, alumni, parents, and students. Interested in having your school recognized as a German Center of Excellence?

K-8 Textbook Evaluation

The AATG presents the fourth edition of the Kinder Lernen Deutsch materials evaluation project. This resource provides teachers with guidelines and criteria for selecting textbooks and supplemental materials. The easy reference to major aspects of each textbook selection includes a summary and details on specific aspects of each text. Also includes an analysis of their support of curiculum based on the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century and identified proficiency level for each text based on the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Deutsch an Schulen

The Deutsch an Schulen initiative supporting German programs in grades K-8 has been a focus of AATG for over two decades. This work has been supported with generous funding from the German Embassy and the Goethe-Institut.
