ACTFL Virtual Professional Development Series
a Four Session Series throughout September into November
Event Details
These sessions are designed to give you access to some outstanding educators who will share some ideas to inspire you along your own leadership journey. Through these talks and the networking you will be able to do at ACTFL, we hope to inspire you to create your own advocacy or leadership goal.
What is an “advocacy or leadership goal”?
As part of the terms of your grant, the German government has asked that you submit a written advocacy or leadership goal after ACTFL. This goal should be concrete and doable! The choice for what to focus on is completely yours. Some examples of goals may be:
· An event or activity to increase the visibility of your German program
· A way to support students from diverse backgrounds in learning German
· Becoming involved in your local AATG chapter
· Serving on an AATG committee or running for office
· Offering the National German Exam in your secondary school
· Sponsoring a new chapter of the National German Honor Society · Want more ideas? Check out the AATG’s Advocacy Toolkit here!
Collaboration is always helpful, so consider with whom you can work. Perhaps you’ll work with colleagues at your institution, partners in your community or fellow grantee in this cohort.
We are excited to announce the first three dates for our virtual professional development sessions to be held prior to the ACTFL Convention. The AATG office staff has pre-registered you for these meetings and you will be receiving Zoom links later this week.
All virtual sessions will be held via Zoom from 7 pm – 8 pm (Eastern).
