IPS Scholarship Due July 31
The German Bundestag, in cooperation with the Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt- Universität Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin, invites you to apply for an International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) to spend five months in Berlin.
Founded in 1986, the IPS program offers highly qualified young people from around 50 countries the opportunity to experience the German parliamentary system and political decision-making processes and to gain practical knowledge of parliamentary work during a three-month placement with a Member of the Bundestag.
IPS gives college graduates who actively engage for democratic values and civil society in their home countries the opportunity to further develop these skills through a multifaceted program of trainings, seminars, and university courses. The program fosters relations between the participating countries and Germany, and supports the international strengthening of democratic values.
U.S. citizen program applicants must have a college degree, very good (B2+) knowledge of German, familiarity with German politics, society and history, and be under the age of 30 at the start of the scholarship.
Following a pre-selection process, the German Bundestag’s independent panel selects the scholarship-winners during interviews held in the United States.
*The IPS program begins March 1 and ends July 31 each year.
